Office Policies

Contact Information

I do not communicate with my patients by email. The main way to contact me is to call the office number (470-658-1453). You will usually need to leave a message. Please include your phone number in all messages, even if you think that I already have it. I will return your routine call within one business day. If your concern is of an urgent nature, I will call back as soon as possible. In a life-threatening situation, do not wait for a return call, but dial 911 or go directly to the nearest emergency room.

Prescriptions

New prescriptions and refills should be obtained during office visits. Calls to pharmacies are time consuming, and also increase the potential for clinical error. Phone refills are the method of last resort, to avoid a lapse in taking necessary medication. If this is the case, I will need both your phone number and that of your pharmacy, along with the name, strength, dose, and frequency of the medicine to be refilled.

Attendance

My attendance policy reflects both a shared commitment toward our meeting on your behalf, balanced with the practical considerations of my office schedule. All appointments represent a firm contract for my professional time. Although unexpected circumstances may arise that interfere with a scheduled appointment, I consider such circumstances to be your responsibility to manage in a manner that is in your best interest, while also honoring our contract. If we can find an alternative time that works we can reschedule the appointment. If an alternative time is not possible, I will not charge for the missed appointment if I am able to fill the time. I will consider exceptions to this policy in extreme circumstances, to be determined on an individual basis.
